Another eureka moment

Doesn't it always happen when you find some information loads more comes! Well I have been able to find loads of information. I have an ancestor, William Newton Jackson and I couldn't find his birth or who his parents were due to his being born in the early 1800's. Birth, death and marriage records didn't start until 1837 so prior to this date we have to rely on parish records.

So I started my search in Chester Le Street, Durham and found an online record search which cost £4.50 for 4 records. So I searched William Newton Jackson and came across St Mary's and St Cuthberts Anglican church in Chester Le Street. The results were brilliant.

William Newton Jacksons' parents are William Jackson, b1789, and Mary Watson who were married in 1805 in St Marys' & St Cutherberts. Their whitnesses were Grace Martindale, Rob Nicholson, William Pybus, Edward Jackson and Margaret Jackson. I feel themay be siblings of William.

I also found Williams' parents who were William and Elizabeth.

Going back to William Newton Jackson; he married Cecily Isabella Proud in 1836 at St Nicholas Church, Newcastle.
